The Other People by C. J. Tudor is a lean, relentlessly paced thriller that hooks from page one and keeps tightening the screws. I loved the way Tudor drip-feeds information—short, punchy chapters, shifting POVs, and that moody, almost folkloric atmosphere. Some elements (the beach, the pebbles, Isabella) lean into intentional ambiguity—more symbolic/liminal than literal—which may divide readers. For me, the uncertainty added to the unease, even if a few answers stayed just out of reach. If you enjoyed the tension and moral murk of The Chalk Man, this one trades playground secrets for grief, revenge, and how far love will push us. It’s a dark, propulsive read with an ending that lingers. Recommended for fans of twisty psychological thrillers with a touch of the uncanny.
