Personal Review
The Silent Patient completely pulled me into its world and refused to let go till the very last page.
What I loved most about this book is how intelligently it plays with the reader’s mind. The story slowly builds tension, making you trust certain perspectives while quietly hiding the truth in plain sight. Even when tiny doubts appear, the narration keeps pulling you in another direction.
Beyond the thriller aspect, the book also explores trauma, obsession, loneliness, and how deeply human actions can affect another person’s mind. One of the biggest takeaways for me was realizing how often we focus only on our own emotions and decisions without understanding the emotional consequences they may create for someone else.
The pacing was addictive, the atmosphere was unsettling, and the ending genuinely left me stunned. For a debut novel, Alex Michaelides did an incredible job crafting a psychological thriller that feels both shocking and emotionally impactful.
Definitely a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers and unreliable narrators.
